Community Engagement & Research Core: Outreach, Partnerships and Implementation Science Program
The Community Engagement & Research Core of the University of Michigan (U-M) Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR) is called Outreach, Partnerships and
Implementation Science (OPIS) Program. Beginning in October 2009, OPIS integrated the Community Engagement, Translation Science and Practice Partnership Cores to better meet the needs of the University and community partners, and to address healthcare issues of the public. As such, OPIS is a community engagement and research workgroup which addresses these four areas: 1) Community Engagement: Public Partners & Community-Based Organizations, 2) Community Engagement: Practitioners/Partners, 3) Implementation/Translation Science, and 4) Patient Outcomes Effectiveness Research. Representation includes faculty from U-M School of Nursing (Office of Practice & Clinical Scholarship), School of Public Health (Department of Health Management and Policy, School of Social Work, School of Medicine (Department of Surgery, Department of Medical Education, Department of Family Medicine), Office of Practice & Clinical Scholarship, Minority Health Research Program, Department of Health Management and Policy, Division of Surgical Oncology, General Surgery, Department of Medical Education, Department of Family Medicine, and the University’s Prevention Research Center of Michigan.
