The goal of the expanded Education Core (EC) is to provide clinical research and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) educational opportunities and resources to faculty and staff within the University of Michigan. |

Faculty and staff interested or engaged in clinical research sponsored by any of the following may benefit from the courses and training provided by EC: |
- University of Michigan
- Industry (e.g. pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or device companies)
- Federal agencies (e.g. National Institutes of Health)
- Investigators (i.e. self-initiated)

MICHR also welcomes other individuals and units at the University of Michigan to participate in the educational offerings sponsored by EC. These staff may include: |

- Quality Assurance/Compliance/Regulatory Affairs

| Courses |
- "Brown Bag" Clinical (BBC) Research Series (THIS ACTIVITY IS ON HOLD) for Research Staff: 1-hour monthly (lunchtime) sessions to assist and inform experienced study coordinators on current and challenging issues on conducting clinical research
- Clinical Regulatory Education Series (THESE SESSIONS WERE COMPLETED IN 2003 AND ARE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ONLINE) for Faculty and Staff: 4-part series offering consecutive monthly 1 hour sessions examining several regulatory cornerstone events in clinical trials as "teaching tools"
- Clinical Research Grand Rounds (CRGR) (THIS ACTIVITY IS ON HOLD) for Investigators: 1 hour quarterly sessions presenting unique and current "hot topics" on clinical research requirements and issues by experts to the "investigators"
- Study Conduct Workshop: A monthly 5-hour interactive program targeted at study coordinators, adminstrators, research nurses, etc. CMEs are available. For registration information and available dates, visit Course Offerings.
- K30 (NIH) Training Program in Clinical Research (for new Investigators and Fellows): leads to a Master of Science in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis.

- T32 (NIH) Multidisciplinary Clinical Researchers in Training (MCRiT) Program (for doctoral students in the schools of Nursing, Dentistry, Medicine and the College of Pharmacology): leads to a Master of Science in Clinical Research. - Postdoctoral Translational Scholars Program (PTSP) (for postdoctoral trainees who possess a PhD in a biomedical scientific or social science discipline). The PTSP aims to provide training in translational research through a comprehensive didactic and practicum 'hand-on' research curriculum.
