Deadline for the 3rd Cohort TBD
The application packet will include the following:
- Application
- Applicant demographics
- Name and contact information for laboratory and clinical mentor
- Letters of support from your chosen laboratory and clinical mentor (agreement to mentor, not fund).
- List of previous major scholarships and fellowships
- Academic history plus transcripts from undergraduate and graduate institutions
- Information on any previous research experience
- Career development plan (which will include rationale for any proposed course work and proposed use of award funds)
- stated goals/outcomes of program completion
- outline and rationale for proposed coursework
- structure and activities for proposed clinical immersion
- timeline for career development
- Executive summary of proposed project
- Budget indicating how the proposed funds will be spent
- Applicant CV
- Mentors CV
- Three letters of references with the included reference report

Q: When will scholars be notified of the decisions?
A: The applicant selection process will be completed by June 1, 2008.
Q: When will the program start?
A: Program start date is July 1, 2008
Q: After my application is received, what happens next?
A: After you application is received, selected candidates will be scheduled for interviews with program management.
Q: Do I have to have both a Clinical and Basic Science Mentor?
A: Yes, though you could have one person serve as both.
Q: Can I still apply if I don't have one or both mentors?
A: Yes, though preference is given to individuals who have identified mentors. If you need assistance finding a mentor, the MICHR Education Program is willing to help identify potential mentors. Please contact Maggie Helms (mhelms@umich.edu) if you have questions regarding PTSP mentorship.
