“When I was admitted into the joint doctoral program, I had to overcome a variety of barriers: being a foreign student who poorly spoke English and had no publications or familiarity with academic culture in the US...the doctoral path appeared to me as a very challenging - and sometimes undoable - experience. However, thanks to Dr. Delva's mentoring and support, I was able to ...make significant progress. For example, I have been able to enormously improve my academic English, presenting articles and posters at both national and international conferences.
