The Applied Biostatistical Sciences (ABS) Network is hosting a lecture on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Dr. Patricia Coleman-Burns will talk about “Garbage In, Garbage Out - What Are We Measuring?”.

The Applied Biostatistical Sciences (ABS) Network and MICHR are hosting a lecture with David Corliss, PhD, who will talk about “Ethical Analytics: Best Practices for Recognizing and Addressing P-Hacking and the File Drawer Problem.”

Data analysts and statisticians who find themselves without support from other statisticians now have the Applied Biostatistical Sciences Network (ABS), established by MICHR, to bring together biostatisticians and research investigators to collaborate, share ideas and learn cutting-edge research methods.

U-M was recently awarded a $3.9 million grant to disseminate its Electronic Medical Records Search Engine (EMERSE) tool to other research institutes. The 5-year grant is part of the NCI’s Informatics Technology for Cancer Research program.

MICHR is developing the Applied Biostatistical Sciences (ABS) Network to provide an environment for statisticians and analysts at U-M to interact, share techniques, and collaborate. We’ll do this through online resources, face-to-face meetings, and other activities.
